The three-month <a href="http://www.bracuniversity.net/academics/rs/" target="_self">residential semester</a> in Savar, is a unique experience for all BRAC University students where they learn interactive, communications skills, become sensitive to the needs of others and cultivate an appreciation for hard, physical labour that most people in Bangladesh are accustomed to. These few months, away from the maddening crowd, provide them with a valuable life experience which helps them grow up to be socially responsible citizens of the country. From Summer 2010, BDI, in collaboration with the Centre for Languages (CFL) is taking charge of this event. During their stay in Savar, students will be exposed to immersive training programmes to improve English language proficiency, develop understanding of the history, society, culture and politics of Bangladesh and an appreciation for ethics and values.
