The BRAC Development Institute is accountable to the Governing Board of BRAC University, through the Vice Chancellor.

 

The Director of the Institute is responsible for preparing the strategic vision of the institute in consultation with the President of BRAC University, the Vice Chancellor, the International Advisory Group, and the Director of BRAC’s Research and Evaluation Division. The strategic vision is approved by the Governing Board. The Director also prepares annual plans, annual budgets and annual reports, which are presented to the Governing Board for approval. The Director is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Institute and is responsible for all hiring, program implementation and day-to-day management.  

 

The Director works with the Vice Chancellor and the Pro-Vice Chancellor in ensuring close coordination with other departments and institutes of the university and in raising the global profile of the university. 

 

The Academic Council approves all course offerings of the institute.

 

A Global Advisory Group and the Director of BRAC Research and Evaluation Division (RED) provide advise to the Director on strategic themes and programs that the institute undertakes.

 

The International Advisory Group

 

BDI has set up a Global Advisory Group to assist it in the development of its strategic plans and to provide it with a global profile. The advisory group held its first meeting on April 14th, 2008, in New York. Members of the Advisory Group include:
