Under this theme, BDI will take research initiatives to understand and building knowledge on the changes in our natural environment and its socio-economic effects on populations.
BDI envisions taking lead in climate change research and dialogue in the country through:
- Research, scholarship, and knowledge building bydoing empirical research on the social impacts of climate change in Bangladesh, particularly its impact on the urban poor and poverty situation, and population and migration issues related to climate change
- Capacity building and improvement through training, education, awareness building, and curriculum development for policy makers, practitioners, planners, and students on the dimensions and impacts of climate change and how to best integrate climate change issues in development planning
- Policy dialogue and dissemination by reaching out to the policy makers, academics, practitioners, media, and general mass through seminars, workshops, and publications
